From left: 10: It looks as though she is standing in mid-air as she begins her second flip. She is about to pull her hand up to her belly button to help her twist. 11-14: Wrapping one arm across her body, Miss Biles creates a small imbalance so that she can twist 180 degrees before her landing. She must be as delicate as possible in her movements. 15: She brings her arms out again to stop herself from twisting any further. 16: As she comes down she can’t see the ground – so it is even harder to control. She keeps her body upright, using her arms for balance, and bends her knees to absorb the energy from the somersault – giving the perfect landing. 17: In the typical landing position for a gymnast, Miss Biles raises her arms to signify that she has finished the skill before moving on to the rest of her routine
