8th Annual Focus on Nature Photo Contest Winners

SCENICS, THIRD PLACE. "Bee the Tree 1" by RICHARD WATSON. " This image is from the Loxahatchee River, just below the second dam. Just to the left of this cabbage palm with ferns there is a cypress tree. In that cypress tree there is a bee hive. And yes, this image came at a cost of multiple bee stings. The moral of the story is not to stick your paddle into the middle of a bee hive to push your kayak away!"

SCENICS, HONORABLE MENTION. "Up in Flames" by LEE ANN MUNSTER. "While out at Arthur R. Marshal Loxahatchee National Wildlife Rescue on a gorgeous evening, the sun was setting beautifully behind this tree. I first focused on a branch or two until the color was just right and I backed away to take a picture of the entire tree. I always love taking silhouettes of trees and this image is one of my favorites."
