Does Baldessari ever think of retiring? No. "I would go crazy," he says.

"I tend to work in a series. That is, I just don't do one show," says Baldessari, a conceptual artist who splices together images. He believes his art is a constant project. "I just start working and then keep working," he says, "until I think I've said everything I have to say about that topic."
