Indian children play next to an elephant statue at Ambedkar Park, dedicated to dalits or India’s low-castes, which was opened to the public Wednesday, in Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi, India The park was built during the rule of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government and includes statues of elephants, the political symbol of the BSP, as well as statues of dalit leaders. It was opened despite an investigation by the current government into millions it says were misappropriated during the building of the park.
