Ugly crime: A detective models a mask worn by one of Baxter Shorter’s crew. He was in a gang with Emmett Perkins, Jack Santo and Barbara Graham that murdered an old woman called Mabel Monohan in March 1953. Shorter ratted on, and Santo and Perkins as he was appalled by the violence. But they took their revenge when they kidnapped him from Bunker Hill and killed him. The mask was found at his sister's house
