As cholo or (belittle) chola - derived from cholo - are traditionally dressed women in Bolivia, Chile and Peru, respectively. The clothing consists of Cholitas pollera (an overcoat), up to 10 petticoats, the shawl and the typical hat. Most cholas appear roundish to overweight through the many layers of clothing.
