Songkran festival, Water Festival. 潑水節

Local and foreign revelers douse each other with water during the Songkran water festival in a popular tourist area of Bangkok, April 13, 2016. The Songkran festival, also known as the Thai New Year or Thailand Water Festival, was originally celebrated as a way to offer good fortune to elders and pay respects to the beloved Buddha. Today the festival has transformed into three days of water fun, with locals and visitors alike splashing each other with buckets of water, hoses and Super Soakers as they gather in the streets.
