Egret, 白鷺

An egret lands near its nest (unseen) in Panbazar area at the banks of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati, India, on May 3, 2016. During this season of the year, hundreds of egrets build their nests in trees in Panbazar, which is a major business center of Guwahati city. With the expansion of the city and proliferation of high-rise buildings, many trees of this area have been cut down, and as a result, egrets are quickly losing their breeding habitat. (EPA/STR)
