The bow of the wreck of the Bajan Queen in Carlisle Bay, Barbados. The ship was originally name the Pelican in 1960, when Bridgetown Harbor underwent construction. Some 10 years later, the Pelican was converted into a party boat due to the introduction of more modern tugboats, then renamed the Bajan Queen. Years later, after living out its time as a party spot on the island, the Bajan Queen was donated to the Coastal Zone Management Unit. The wreck of the Berwyn sits 7 to 10 feet below the water’s surface, depending on the tides. The tugboat was sunk near Bridgetown in Carlisle Bay, Barbados, in 1919 by its own crew.
