 A Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules approaches Kodiak Benny Benson State Airport with the sun near the horizon at 1:17 p.m. in Kodiak, Alaska. A light inversion trapped clouds and fog near the surface of the Gulf of Alaska, leading to Kodiak's first clear day in almost a week and allowing planes to land at the airport.
