The LA Times posted its earthquake story within three minutes, journalist Ken Schwencke said

The Los Angeles Times was the first newspaper to publish a story about an earthquake on Monday - thanks to a robot writer.

美國報紙發表電腦生成的報道 - BBC中文網 - 國際

美國加州周一（3月18日）當地時間早晨發生4.4級地震，《洛杉磯時報》是第一家報告這次地震的媒體。

而《洛杉磯時報》能拔得這個頭籌，則是靠了「機器人寫手」。

《洛杉磯時報》系統內的地震新聞自動生成系統在收到美國地質勘探局電腦系統發出的地震信息後，將數據輸入事先凖備好的模板。

這個系統僅用了三分鐘就完成了新聞的生成並將其發表在《洛杉磯時報》的網站上。

目前越來越多的媒體都在探索類似的新聞生成方式，而《洛杉磯時報》則是開發這一技術的先驅者。
