Up they rise – French lawyers protest
Copies of the French Civil Code are placed amongst a frieze depicting the “Oath of the Jeu de Paume” (June 20, 1789) on the Republic statue as French lawyers, notaries and bailiffs attend a national protest in Paris against a government reform plan to deregulate their profession.
