La aurora boreal, o las luces del norte se producen sobre Derwentwater, cerca de Keswick, Inglaterra,  Las auroras boreales son el resultado de colisiones entre partículas gaseosas en la atmósfera de la Tierra con partículas cargadas liberadas por el sol. Cada aparición de la aurora boreal es única. En algunas ocasiones ves tres bandas verdes, bailando en el cielo nocturno. Otras veces se muestra como una cortina de verde eléctrico o como un tornado de luz tenue. The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, shine over Derwentwater, near Keswick in the Lake District. The spectacular display was seen further south than usual after a recent geomagnetic storm.
