「寶 可夢」日文原文是「ポケットモンスター」，也就是英文中的「POCKET MONSTERS（口袋怪獸）」。以日文羅馬拼音發音就成了「poketto monnsutaa」。一般簡稱為「ポケモン」，羅馬拼音：「Pokemon」。
