8th Annual Focus on Nature Photo Contest Winners

CLOSE-UPS, FIRST PLACE. "Preening Baby Katydid" by ELAINE KRUER. "I've been fascinated with insects since I was a little girl. My interest has evolved over the years from collecting to photography. Each day I walk around the yard looking for something new to learn about. I found this tiny katydid on my hibiscus, and as I was taking its picture, it began preening. I find its little face so enchanting, like a miniature cartoon character."
